Sr. Supervisor, Converged Data Solution Architect

About the role

• Responsible for DPI which is the core layer inspecting data traffic and orchestrating charging as well as policy management. In the new broadband architecture, the DPI is critical to accurate data charging and policy enforcement.
• Subject matter expert in the area of policy management, quality of service and data charging architecture.
• Responsible for the policy enforcement architecture and platforms.
• Responsible for integration with core data network.
• Responsible for the entire FMC (Fixed Mobile Convergence) portfolio, including WiFi Offload and 3G/DSL data integration. This new stream requires its own solution, platform and services.
• Responsible for building up the solution, integrating with both Orange networks and creating a roadmap for the FMC services.
• Manage the production of analytical reports on data traffic and trends.
• Accountable for setting the proper architecture model design for all Mobile broadband and Mobile internet services , underlying network elements and charging and policy platforms.
• Assist in defining a roadmap for the data platforms architecture evolution and convergence covering data charging, policy and DPI.
• Manage relationship with different platform supplier.
• Follow up on different project phases from studying technical requests for new core network elements until implementing the different phases of the project.
• Act as a senior team member for the integration of new data services platforms
• Maintain and monitor system performance KPI.
• Enabling and maintaining the capacity of data platforms that serve the broadband and data services such as the DPI and current charging system.
• Developing the standards 3GPP architecture for broadband, Mobile internet covering inspection, policy and charging engines.
• Manage RFQ cycle for selecting best of the breed solution.
• ·         Keep up to date with new trends and evolution in the field of Broadband and data services architecture.
• Support in the creation of new broadband offers and products based of differentiated policies and charging.
• Work closely with different suppliers (e.g. Openet, Huawei, Sandvine, and Ericsson) on Hardware Capacity Planning, High Availability, Hardware Redundancy design, System and Network Security Aspects, Product Development, Testing and Benchmarking.
• Work closely with different stakeholder of each project to ensure proper design and assurance of scope, quality and cost. 
• Study traffic evolution & platforms utilizations.
• Study new releases features & impact on the service from customer & network point of view.
• Defines the implementation plan of the service and coordinate with other entities inside Orange.
• Perform site preparations including LAN/WAN, Power, GSM, …etc connections.
• Prepare acceptance tests procedure.
• Perform acceptance tests with different stakeholders.
• Maintain owns technical competence and keep up-to-date with the latest technological trends.
• Provide guidance to junior team members.
• Report to management on achievements and progress, and appropriately escalates issues for decision taking.
• Ensure Operational efficiency with focus on automation and infrastructure  enablement.
• Ensure problem solving in case of operational problems that requires a developer intervention.
• Ensure end-to-end accountability and delivery following the proper project management methodology for Broadband and data services as per Orange expectation.
• Plan the capacity and dimensioning of all  data & broadband platforms to cater for commercial forecasted growth in the best TTM and most cost efficient approach.
• Set , Develop and control capacity upgrade budget.
• Perform Vendor evaluation & selection for all Broadband, data Services and platforms.
• Manage supplier relationship and ensuring the best business/ partnership model in the benefit of Orange.

About you

• B.SC. in communication engineering, computer engineering, computer science or electronics.
• 4 years of experience in telecom field specifically in data broadband products and services.
• knowledge of telecom environment & protocols.
• Knowledge of project management methods.
• Basic knowledge of network protocols (e.g. IP, TCP/UDP, HTTP, FTP, XML, Diameter)
• knowledge of different operating systems and database (UNIX operating systems and Oracle 11g is a plus).
• Good general IT & Telecom background.
