Senior Mechanical Tendering Engineer
 
Location: New Cairo

Job Summary:
The Senior Mechanical Tendering Engineer is responsible for leading and managing the preparation, evaluation, and submission of mechanical tenders for construction projects. This role involves reviewing tender documents, preparing cost estimates, negotiating with suppliers, ensuring technical and commercial compliance, and coordinating with internal teams. 
 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tender Preparation & Cost Estimation
Analyze tender documents, project specifications, and drawings to determine project scope.
Develop detailed cost estimates for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems.
Identify potential risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value engineering strategies.
Ensure all tenders are technically and commercially competitive.

2. Technical & Commercial Evaluation
Review contract terms and conditions to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Assess technical specifications and recommend alternative materials or designs to optimize costs.
Work closely with engineering, design, procurement, and finance teams to finalize bid proposals.

3. Vendor & Supplier Management
Obtain, evaluate, and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Ensure selected mechanical equipment and services comply with project standards and specifications.
Develop strong relationships with key suppliers to enhance cost efficiency.

4. Stakeholder Coordination
Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams to clarify tender requirements.
Represent the company in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and negotiations.
Provide technical support during bid presentations and tender clarifications.

5. Documentation & Compliance
Prepare and maintain accurate tender documents, cost breakdowns, and bid reports.
Ensure compliance with local and international construction regulations and industry standards.
Monitor and update management on tender progress and market trends.

6. Market & Competitor Analysis
Conduct market research to evaluate competitor pricing and industry trends.
Stay updated on new mechanical technologies and cost-effective materials to improve tender competitiveness.
 

Required Qualifications & Skills:
-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
-6-10 years of experience in mechanical tendering within the construction industry.
-Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical systems.
-Knowledge of EPC contracts, FIDIC contract conditions, and large-scale construction project tendering.
-Proficiency in tendering software, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project), AutoCAD, and Revit MEP.
-Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
-Excellent communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, clients, and suppliers.
-Ability to handle multiple tenders and work under tight deadlines.
