A Tax Senior Accountant role in an FCMG industrial and trading company with a strong technical understanding of local tax laws, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to navigate the complexities of the industry to ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations and optimize the company's tax position. Here's a detailed breakdown of the typical responsibilities and scope:

Core Responsibilities:

Tax Compliance: Assist in preparing all types of tax returns accurately and on time along with the External tax consultant, including:
Corporate Income Tax (CIT).
E Invoice Reconciliation.
Value Added Tax (VAT) - Monthly returns.
Withholding Tax (WHT) - Forms 41 (suppliers and services) and 11 (non-residents).
Salary Tax.
Stamp Tax.
Property tax.
International Tax
Transfer Pricing.
Social insurance
Custom duties knowledge is preferred
Ensure timely tax payments to the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA).
Tracking the latest tax laws, regulations, and amendments in Egypt and ensure their effective implementation within the company, monitor changes in tax legislation and advise management on potential impacts on the business.
Ensure compliance with all statutory and taxation requirements.
Tax Accounting and Reporting:
Maintain accurate tax records, documentation & update the monthly tracker.
Review and analyze tax-related accounts and reconcile tax ledgers with the tax returns.
Prepare and update relevant tax provision schedules.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accurate reflection of tax liabilities and assets.
Prepare various tax reports and analyses for management.
Support on the monthly/ quarterly & Annual closure of books

Tax Planning and Advisory:
Participate in tax planning activities to optimize the company's tax position and minimize tax liabilities within the legal framework.
Assist in providing tax advice to different business units within the company on various transactions and initiatives.
Assist in developing and implementing tax policies and procedures.
Tax Audits and Disputes:
Manage and support external and internal tax audits.
Prepare necessary documentation and provide support during tax audits.
Respond to tax queries from the authorities.
Handle tax disputes and represent the company before tax authorities, including committees and courts, to resolve conflicts and avoid penalties.
Prepare and deliver documentation for any disputes with the tax authority.
Coordination and Communication:
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Legal, HR, and Accounting, to ensure tax compliance.
Liaise with external tax consultants and auditors as needed.
Handle all tax-related correspondence with the ETA.
Process Improvement:
Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance tax efficiency and effectiveness.
Ensure proper tax documentation is maintained and organized.
Required Skills and Qualifications (Based on common job descriptions):
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. (Certified Charter Accountant) can be an advantage.
3-7 years of proven work experience in tax accounting in Egypt, preferably within multinational or large local companies, and ideally with some exposure to the FCMG sector.
In-depth knowledge of Egyptian tax laws and regulations (Income Tax Law 91/2005, VAT Law 67/2016 and its amendments, Stamp Tax Law 111/1980, etc.).
Experience in preparing and filing various tax returns and dealing with the Egyptian Tax Authority.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel.
Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
