Job Title: Deputy Finance Manager
Location: New Cairo, Egypt
Salary: Competitive salary, medical and a competitive performance related bonus scheme
 
The main purpose of role is to support the Country Finance Manager and Finance Teams (in Cairo and Edinburgh) to meet their principal duties according to applicable operated and non-operated Joint Operating Agreements and Production Sharing Contracts, as well as accounting standards, sales agreements.

In conjunction with the Country Finance Manager (Egypt), you will represent the Company from a finance perspective with external parties (government, joint venture partners, suppliers, oil & gas regulator, tax authorities, wider industry organizations etc.) You will also need to deputize for the Country Finance Manager (Egypt), when required

The following experience/skills is required for the role:
Relevant Experience

· Oil and gas industry, or similar, knowledge required - good understanding of the business value chain.
· Oil and gas joint venture knowledge and experience preferred from the following perspectives: 1) finance: accounting, budgeting, reporting and analysis; 2) economics and commercial: key business drivers within agreements (JOAs/ PSCs); 3) management: representing the company in meetings with JV partners and governments (at various levels)
· Prior experience of Egyptian tax compliance requirements - preference of prior dealings with the tax section relating to hydrocarbon business
· Broad commercial acumen/ mindset
· Ability to work on own initiative assessing problems and issues and developing and implementing solutions.
· Ability to work effectively with team(s) in remote office locations (required)
· Strong communication/ interpersonal/ presentation skills - ability to liaise directly with external parties Ability to influence and use diplomacy in communications with external parties.
· Proven experience of dealing with different government departments
· Bilingual Arabic and English (must be fluent in both languages)
