Accountant - Hikma Pharmaceuticals

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system .
• Assign tag numbers to fixed assets.
• Track projects under construction and transfer them to the related category once the related projects have been completed.
• Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger .
• Calculate depreciation for all fixed assets and ensure the applied rates.
• Review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation .
• Calculate asset retirement obligations .
• Investigate the potential obsolescence of fixed assets.
• Conduct periodic impairment reviews for intangible assets .
• Conduct periodic physical counts of fixed assets.
• Conduct analysis related to fixed assets as requested by management.
• Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets, and assist the auditors in their inquiries.
• Represent the company during any audits by a government that involve fixed assets.
• Track company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budget and management authorizations.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting major.
• CMA is a plus.
• SAP knowledge is a plus and preferred.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience (preferably pharmaceuticals Industry).
• Must have relevant hands-on experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of fixed assets.
• Must have strong in Fixed Assets & cost accounting background and a sound understanding of IFRS.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• High degree of accuracy & efficiency.
