Project Description:

The OSRA program is five-year USAID-funded project. The goal of the OSRA program is to improve family health outcomes by reinforcing the national family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH) program in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Population (MOHP). The OSRA program will achieve this purpose through the three pivotal results: 1) Women’s and men’s uptake and continuation of voluntary family planning services increased; 2) Youth equipped with knowledge and skills necessary to make healthy life choices; and 3) Gender dynamics improved for enhanced voluntary family planning and reproductive health outcomes. The OSRA program will closely collaborate with different local stakeholders and other Government of Egypt (GOE) entities to attain its results.

Summary: Assists country offices to complete the financial closing process and ensure timely reconciliation of accounts. Analyzes and prepares certain financial reports, optimizes workflow, and harmonizes processes to ensure the accurate and timely close. Coordinates and documents accounting processes based on different ERP systems. Manages the monthly preparation, review and analysis of global operating results, and reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  1. Reconciliation: Records and reconciles balance sheet accounts including cash, intercompany, prepaids and accruals.
  2. Foreign Denominated Accounts: Prepares monthly revaluations of foreign denominated accounts. Maintains foreign exchange rates in the accounting system.
  3. Country Cash Requests: Reviews and processes country cash funding requests for accuracy.
  4. Compliance: Reviews field transactions to verify compliance with Pathfinder and donor policies and regulations.
  5. Financial Reporting Process: Assists in the completion of the financial reporting process in accordance with Pathfinder International guidelines.
  6. Government Surveys: Prepares data and documentation for government surveys within set time constraints.
  7. Accounting Processes: Works to identify ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting and assists in initiatives to implement improvements financial statements in accordance with US GAAP requirements. Optimizes workflow and harmonizes processes. Coordinates and documents accounting processes based on different ERP systems.
  8. Audit Preparation: Assists with annual audits as needed.
  9. Consolidation Coordination: Manages consolidation process to ensure global consolidation allocations and processes are accurately recorded on time.
  10. Project Management and Participation: Leads, manages or participates on cross-functional project teams.

Minimally Required Job-Specific Competencies:

  • Accounting Principles and Practices: Advanced knowledge of and ability to apply accounting principles, standards, guidelines, and practices. Advanced knowledge of FAR and GAAP.
  • Reconciliation: Proven ability to reconcile accounts.
  • Consolidation Process: Proven ability to manage the consolidation process.
  • Reporting: Foundational knowledge of the financial reporting process.
  • Accounting Systems and Tools: Advanced knowledge of accounting systems, data and spreadsheets.
  • Audit Process: Foundational knowledge of the audit process, standards and guidelines.
  • Job-Specific Software Applications: Advanced knowledge of accounting software applications to include accounting systems, data and spreadsheets.

Minimally Required Education, Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management with an emphasis in Accounting, or related field, or equivalent, or a combination of education and experience that yields the required competencies
  • 4 years’ professional finance and accounting experience.
  • Work experience with a multinational organization.
  • Prefer: Work experience in international Finance and Accounting
  • Prefer: Work experience with Serenic financial systems
  • Prefer: Work experience with government grants and contracts
