Accountant - Careem

What Youwill Do

• Posting Journals on Oracle ERP.
• Reconcile the banks at the designated frequency.
• Raise corporate invoices for different careem verticals and send them to customers on a monthly basis.
• Issue & validate credit notes and post to Sales Ledger and customers accounts.
• Reduce the DSO by aligning with the cash collection unit to ensure outstanding balances are collected in a timely and efficient manner.
• Allocate bank transfers card payments and Cheque Payments to customers accounts against due invoices.
• Liaise with sales and operations team to resolve any issues.
• Ensure compliance with Careem internal policies.
• Participate in the month-end closing process to ensure costs are accurately booked making corrections and re-classes for proper cost allocations.
• Assists in year-end closing and at the time of conducting audits to meet the external auditor requirements.

What you will need

• Bachelor degree in Accounting.
• 2-3 years of accounting/finance experience.
• Good working knowledge of Accounting software systems preferably ERP.
• Solid familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
• Background in fast-paced entrepreneurial start-up/technology environments is a plus.

• This role is part of a remote distributed team! This means you can be based in any of the countries where we currently have an engineering site. If you would like to join us in Dubai Berlin Ukraine Russia Poland Pakistan Egypt Lebanon or Jordan that fine with us (Visa permitting)!
• Even though we are working remotely we are strong believers in collaboration and the power of building social connections with our teams. For that reason our offices are still open and provide plenty of collaboration-friendly spaces at times when teams need it or if you need a quiet space to work outside of the home.
• You will be working in the location you are hired from. Due to legal and compensation considerations you will need to be based out of the country you are hired from as your primary work location.
