Senior Accountant - Intrepid Travel

The Position

As a Senior Accountant with Intrepid, you will be responsible for managing the financial, system and management accounting function for PEAK DMC Cairo. Contributing to the overall direction of the business, you’ll take an active part of the management group and ensure the accurate and timely recording and reconciliation of the financial transactions of the company including supplier and contractor accounts.

Your day will vary, but some of the tasks you’ll take lead on are:

• Overseeing and taking initiative in the financial performance of the business to meet financial targets
• Establish accounting systems to support PEAKS business needs
• Preparation and completion of regular reporting of Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cashflow and Group Disclosure
• Manage reports to Tax Department and annual financial statements filed by required time frames
• Analyse cost of sales, sales results, and the company’s actual performance compared to the budget/forecast
• Company tax planning, corporate governance, and ensuring statutory compliance
• Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives

You will also take charge of accounts payable, and expense reimbursement and support the business with your financial expertise in various ways. This is a permanent full-time position based in Cairo, whilst it does require some contact hours, we offer a variety of flexible working options

Some of the skills you’ll bring with you are:

• Degree level qualifications or higher with at least 3+ years experience in a related role
• Experience and knowledge of complex accounting packages
• Practical general finance and accounting experience in a foreign-invested business would be well regarded
• Practical general finance and accounting experience in Egypt
• Written and verbal communication skills in English
• Experience and knowledge with Egyptian Tax
