Are you interested in machine learning and natural language understanding (NLU/NLP) in hardware constrained environments? Do you want to learn more about cutting edge machine learning technology and advanced state-of-the-art techniques, such as Deep Neural Networks (DNNs), to solve challenging problems in natural language understanding? We’re building the embedded AI software under the hood of Alexa in a broad range of devices including Echo devices and Auto manufactures head units etc. We’re working hard, having fun, making history; come join us!

This team is in the NLU Engine org within Alexa AI. We are an engineering team that work directly with AI research scientists to deliver innovative conversational experiences for hundreds of millions of Alexa's customers. You will work directly with some of the best ML Research and Applied Scientists in the field. Projects this team is working on includes Deep Learning, Contextual Understanding, Complex Utterances, Conversational AI, and more.

As a Software Engineer you will be responsible for designing and implementing and launching core AI product features. You will have input into the team's strategy and defining technical direction, component design, product features, and team roadmap.

We will help you to relocate to Gdansk!


Basic Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of professional experience with Software Development
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, like Java, C/C++ or C#.
• Strong software design and development skills.
• Ability to communicate technical ideas with peers and non-technical peers.
• Strong fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, complexity analysis and data structures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Machine Learning and/or Natural Language Processing
• Experience building embedded software systems
