Summary:
• The U.S. Mission in Cairo/Egypt is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Architect in the Facilities Office.

- The work schedule for this position is: Full Time - 40 hours per week.

• Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties
The incumbent is responsible for architectural functions for buildings, properties and projects to include all construction, renovations and alternations for U.S. government owned residential and non-residential facilities in Cairo. The incumbent is the contracting officer's representative (COR) on assigned construction contracts for architectural work activities. Develops and maintains a master list of planned and proposed projects based on surveys and assessments of properties. The incumbent assists and reports directly to the senior engineer manager and works independently under general guidance, within the scope of his/her assignments.     

Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE:  

Five years of progressively responsible experience as an Architectural Engineer is required. Three years of this experience in operations, building construction, maintenance, and project supervision and inspection is also required. 

JOB KNOWLEDGE: 

Must have thorough professional knowledge of architectural and constructional engineering theories and practices; inspection practices and procedures of construction practices and techniques, and work of the principal construction trades.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor degree in architectural engineering is required.

Evaluations:
LANGUAGE:   Level IV (fluent) in reading and speaking English is required. (This may be Tested)

 Level IV (fluent) in reading and speaking Arabic is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

Must have a professional engineer's license or other appropriate credentials in architectural engineering.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
