You as a Tax Manager will be part of Hitachi ABB Power Grids business based in Cairo, Egypt. You will be providing tax expertise in the country to ensure compliance with local and international tax laws and regulations. Taking responsibilities for definition and implementation of tax planning and tax risk management processes in the country in line with overall group tax strategy and global initiatives.

Your Responsibilities

Compliance with laws and regulations: Providing tax expertise in the country to ensure compliance with local and international tax laws and regulations. Acting as internal tax advisor in complex tax matters coordinates resolution of tax issues in the country.

Tax planning and risk management: Identifying tax planning opportunities and risks of non-compliance, proposes measures to mitigate risk and obtains support from peers, group function heads and country or region management in implementing the measures.

Policies: Developing implements and harmonizes relevant standards, processes, policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of corporate tax matters in own area of responsibility. Coordinating between group functions, divisions and regions or countries to ensure local procedures align with Hitachi ABB Power Grids group policies, processes and procedures and are correctly implemented.

Tax accounting and reporting: Overseeing all tax accounting and reporting activities in the country.

Tax authorities: Liaising with Tax Authorities and similar in negotiations or dealings regionally or locally in a multitude of complex tax policy matters including transfer pricing for goods and services, contracting business, mergers and acquisitions, intra-group arrangements, tax accounting and reporting, HR taxes, indirect taxes, financing and tax litigation/planning projects.

Internal control: Ensuring that internal controls over financial reporting processes are designed and performed effectively and efficiently in the respective areas of responsibility.

People leadership and development: Ensuring with HR Manager support that the area of responsibility is organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guiding, motivating and developing direct or indirect subordinates within HR policies. Leading tax function and Tax Committee sub-groups regionally or nationally and actively facilitates knowledge sharing.

Your background

A bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting, auditing, finance or commerce is required.

Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible professional experience in the financial analysis, auditing and accounting field is required.

Knowledge of professional financial principles & procedures. Good knowledge of USGAAP, BANK regulations and tax law is required.

Good knowledge of SAP accounting system, SOX & US-GAAP rules & regulations.

Sound judgement and good analytical ability to analyses and solve problems and to take decisions in the areas of responsibility.

Proficiency in both spoken & written English and Arabic language.
