Financial Accounting & Tax Manager

Act as Key Finance Point of contact for issues related to non-projects costs, payables, taxes and banks.

Job Responsibilities

Accounting and Controls – About 70%

Primary owner of actual reported general ledger results for all the legal entities.

Business partnering/supervise the Backoffice team in India to ensure full coordination on financial transaction.

Appraising controls environment(s) and driving improvements in alignment with business partners.

Drive financial accounting monthly pre-close/close activities; ensure timely & accurate reporting books.

Provide, review, support monthly supplemental schedules and statistical data as applicable.

Review & approve Trial balances, Balance Sheet accounts and conduct flux analysis.

Responsible for all accounts payables and treasury activities, banking and cash forecasts

Review, approve complex Judgmental Journals; define calculation method for recurring, non-judgemental Journals.

Liaise with Projects Controls to ensure overall adherence to revenue recognition compliance.

Review and approve complex high risk balance sheet account reconciliations.

Conduct Balance sheet Reviews for all entities every quarter.

Safeguard company assets, review and approve fixed assets requests, inventory counts. Drive appropriate actions towards assets physical verification process.

Conduct impairment reviews and assessments as and when required.

Provide compliant accounting treatments for Foreign Exchange and other technical accounting matters.

Lead and coordinate internal & external audit, and ensure strong internal controls environment.

Statutory / Tax :

Own the statutory Accounting Policy and Process. Ensure timely and accurate filing of all statutory financial statements.

Review, approve and submit various regulatory reports.

Review, approve and submit Corporate Income tax returns and Corporate tax packs.

Review, approve VAT reports, returns, WHT submissions.

Coordinate and support Tax Audits.

Functional Transformation – around 30%

Lead and coordinate financial accounting process standardization and enhancements.

Lead and coordinate implementation of global Alstom processes for all Egypt entities.

Ensure that process changes are well communicated with the business & functions, roles and responsibilities are properly designed, assigned and performed.

Work closely with the financial accounting team members to ensure proper communication, knowledge sharing, Training and Development actions are taken to maintain a strong finance team in Egypt.

Qualification And Experience

University degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics/Commerce

Professional qualification required; CMA/CPA, etc.

10 years of experience with 5 years in managerial/supervisory position ideally

Good English language is a must

Strong leadership required, will manage a team, and will be interacting with leadership teams

Strong communication & presentation skills

SAP experience is a plus
